School Profile
The Qualicum School District is located on Vancouver Island, BC, and encompasses the charming beach front cities of Qualicum and Parksville in the Oceanside region. Qualicum School District provides international students from all over the world the opportunity to live with a local family, study in a Canadian school and enjoy the wonderful quality of life we enjoy on Vancouver Island. We offer a very strong and comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program with specially trained and experienced instructors to ensure International Students have the best instruction possible.
Qualicum School District has an abundance of athletic, arts and cultural organizations. Our schools provide all students with the opportunity to participate in many excellent academic, performing arts and athletic activities including specialized academy programs in: Golf, Soccer, Hockey, Dance, Outdoor Leadership (ROAMS) and Music. A dedicated International Student Counselor is based at each secondary school to provide academic counseling and support. Students are also encouraged to participate in activities outside of school including, soccer, baseball, beach volleyball, ice hockey, tennis, golf, swimming, dance, skiing, snowboarding, horseback riding, karate, and taekwondo. Students are also provided with an annual itinerary of activities and travel opportunities to further enhance their Canadian experience. The friendly and welcoming nature of our people enhances the spectacular natural setting. Located in a sub- mediterranean zone, this area enjoys the mildest year round climate in Canada.
